3/20/2012 - Jeremy Martin's Star Valli Yamaha Spring National Race Report

The Star Valli Yamaha duo of Jeremy Martin and Cooper Webb hit the road three long weeks ago for consecutive amateur national races at Freestone MX in Wortham, TX, Oak Hill MX in Decatur, TX finally ending up in Pell City, AL for the final spring national at Millcreek MX. Three very different tracks definitely require some adaptation with the only break in between being the drive from one city to the next. To say the two young riders had a successful trip is certainly an understatement. The pair managed to claim 13 titles en route to 20 total podium finishes. 2 riders + 20 podiums = amazing to say the least.

Jeremy Martin is new to the Star Valli Yamaha team this year as well, but has been a top guy under the Rockstar Umbrella for several years now. Martin is clearly a forced to be reckoned with after his early season results. He was nearly unstoppable and a threat to win every moto he lined up for. Jeremy is never satisfied however and always searching for ways to improve. He wants to win and it shows. When standing on the podium for interviews, he is thinking about lines from the previous moto and how he can go faster. After what was to him, a slow start to the week in Alabama(getting 2nd), he went back to the drawing board and focused on how to pick up the pace. Then things changed, he reeled off moto win after moto win nearly sweeping the A and pro classes collecting 3 titles out of a possible 4.

“I want to win. I’m planning on doing the last four outdoor nationals this season where everybody is a bad dude. I’m going to be ready and going in with confidence,” said Martin while standing on the podium from one of his many moto wins. “We have been working with Jeremy for a long time now since the days on his 85. He has always had as much or more drive than any rider I have ever been around. I was ecstatic to find out that he was going to be with us again this year and I’m not surprised to see him winning consistently,” mentioned James Hanson.
